Chapel Road & Cardabilities Sketch #30

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday morning! As I am typing this, I am watching the replay of the Royal Wedding. Isn't Princess Catherine beautiful? That wedding dress, the gorgeous church, and her handsome husband...... ahhhhhhhhh......... *swooooooning*

Okay back to today's card. :-) Technique Junkies is sponsoring today's Cardabilities sketch, so I combined this sketch with a technique and some stamps from Class Act/Chapel Road. I had fun picking out some papers from Basic Grey's Curio line and mixing and matching to get everything to fit with the sketch.

I love Gerber daisies, so I stamped the gorgeous Gerber daisy from the Gerbera Angle set onto some salmon colored paper. Then I used the Embossed Image technique, which is from the latest Emboss or Die CD from Technique Junkies. The sentiment, also from the Gerbera Angle set, was stamped some onto yellow paper and then punched out. I also punched some flowers and leaves and a butterfly.

Enjoy your weekend!

Stamps: Gerbera Angle set from the Chapel Road line at Class Act Inc.
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Walnut Stain distress
CS: Chocolate Chip, Curio (Basic Grey)
Other: punches, embossing folder, circle and scallop circle dies, button
Technique: Embossed Image (Emboss or Die CD from Technique Junkies)

Autumn Leaves Bear

It was a hot and windy day here, and I'm ready to just skip over the summer heat and head straight into crisp and cool fall weather. This Autumn Bear from I Brake for Stamps is just darling! I think this is easily my favorite bear so far. :-) (Yeah, I say that about all of them, don't I?? LOL)

After I watercolored this Autumn Bear with distress inks, I paper pieced his sweater and cap with some olive green paper from Basic Grey's Pyrus collection. I stamped Holly's Tattered Background on the artichoke cardstock in the background, and then distressed all the background layers. The bear was cut with a circle die and then I distressed the edges and used the Torn Frames technique on the brown circle.

Head on over to I Brake for Stamps to order this Autumn Bear and the versatile Tattered Background. You can save 10% by using this code - SAVE10HOLLY - when you check out.

Here's to a quick summer so we can enjoy some crisp, cool autumn weather soon! :-)

Chapel Road Challenge - April 22, 2011

I'm posting my card for this week's Chapel Road challenge, which is to create a card with a unique fold or shape. In other words, don't make a normal A2 rectangular card. I decided to play with the Variations Hydrangea stamp set and turn my card into a Double Gatefold Card.

The Double Gatefold Card technique is really cool, and it is on the Fancy Folds and Motion Paper Crafts CD (available from Technique Junkies). I added a sentiment from Chapel Road's Birthday Edwardian set to the inside:

Why don't you play along with this week's Challenge? You don't have to use Class Act/Chapel Road stamps, but if you do, you get an extra entry into their drawing to win free stamps. You can get inspired by checking out what the other DT ladies created HERE.

Stamps: Variations Hydrangea and Chapel Road's Birthday Edwardian from Class Act (in the Chapel Road line)
Ink: Orchid, Olive
CS: Orchid, Olive, White, Razzleberry, Cottage Wall dp
Other: Razzleberry ribbon
Technique: Double Gatefold card (Fancy Folds & Motion Paper Crafts CD)

Birthday Cupcake Bear

Isn't that bear just too cute??? Yeah, I love all the bears from I Brake for Stamps, and this one is so perfect for birthday cards.

I paired up this Birthday Bear with some yummy cupcake paper that I found at a LSS. The bear is colored with Copic markers and then carefully cut out. I used the Heavenly Holes technique from Technique Junkies in the background behind the bear for a little added interest. The sentiment is from Every Day Phrases - such a versatile sentiment set!

If I ever have some free time, I think I'm going to color up a bunch of these adorable Birthday Bears and cut them out. Then all I have to do is add one to a quick birthday card and it will look like I worked for days on it! Hmmmmm...... mighty fine idea, eh???

If you're ready to go buy this Birthday Bear and these Every Day Phrases stamps, be sure to use this code - SAVE10HOLLY - to save 10% off your order. Happy Shopping!!

Shimmery Hot Air Balloon

Happy Sunday! I hope you have been enjoying your weekend!

Today I'm sharing this bright and fun card with y'all. I colored this fabulous Hot Air Balloon image from Heart Song Designs with Copic markers, and then I went over them with some shimmery Creative Inspirations Paint. Then I used the Out of the Box Nesties technique from the Emboss or Die cd (Technique Junkies) to cut this out and attached it to this card.

I used some Mellow Yellow paint on the green and yellow stripes of the balloon and some Fuchsia paint on the pink part of the balloon. Here is a close-up so you can see the fabulous shimmer:

I hope you are enjoying the nice spring weather this weekend. If you're done needing your rain, send it my way!! :-)

Stamps: Hot Air Balloon from Heart Song Designs
CS: White, DeLovely dp (Cosmo Cricket)
Other: Copic markers, circle die, yellow ribbon

Collaged Lilacs

Spring is definitely here and I'm seeing lots of pretty wildflowers and leafy trees and butterflies flitting everywhere. My husband has been mowing the grass around the house for the past two evenings - the first time he's had to mow this year!

In honor of all the freshly cut green grass, I had to use some green paper in the background of this Lilac card. :-) The stamped image piece is done using the With & Without Technique from the latest issue of Technique Junkies, and I used two stamp sets from Class Act (Chapel Road line).

The gorgeous lilac flower and the word are from the Variations Lilac set, and the pretty butterfly is from the Butterfly Square set. The technique sort of puts together a little scene or collage of different stamps, and I actually stamped this out 4 times to get it to look the way I wanted it. (Just a little honesty... LOL).

You know I like to let the stamped images shine and take center stage, so I kept everything else simple. Just some pretty patterned paper and some buttons is all I needed for this card.

Are you looking forward to the weekend? I know I am! :-)

Stamps: Variations Lilac & Butterfly Square from Chapel Road line at Class Act, Inc
Ink: Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender distress inks
CS: Eggplant, White, patterned paper from Making Memories
Other: embossing folder, sanding block, buttons, clear embossing powder
TJ Techniques: With & Without Collage, Sanded Coredinations

Dog Bone Bag

I have a soft spot for puppies, and I couldn't resist making a little bag of dog treats to share with you today. This adorable puppy is from the Bedtime Buddies sheet, available from I Brake for Stamps.

I used a new Tuck and Close Bag #01 from Creative Cuts and More in a kraft cardstock, stamped the bone all over it (also from the Bedtime Buddies sheet), assembled the bag, and added this puppy to the front. You can see the actual assembly directions here (I did the tutorial).

The puppy is colored with Copic markers and then I used a silver glitter pen to color his little tag. Then I did the Curled Corners technique from Technique Junkies and added a cut-out bone to the exposed corner.

Now wouldn't this make a fun gift to give to someone who brings home a new puppy or to someone who is celebrating their puppy's birthday? Quick, easy, and fun! :-)

This is the last of my Bedtime Buddies postings this week, and I hope you enjoyed all my projects. Head on over to I Brake for Stamps to buy this set (code SAVE10HOLLY) and then head over to Creative Cuts and More to buy this fun Tuck and Close Bag #01 as well as many other die cut bags, boxes, and cards (code CC&M10HOLLY). Have a great evening!!

Circle Tab Kitty card

As promised, I'm showing you another one of the adorable stamps from the Bedtime Buddies sheet available at I Brake for Stamps. This kitty is just too cuddly, isn't she??

I found some kitty paper at a LSS, and I colored the kitty with Copic markers to sort of match the colors in the paper. I also stamped and colored the mice and cut them out to fit in the little circle at the top.

This card is called a Circle Tab card and it is a fun technique found on the Fancy Folds and Motion Paper Crafts CD from Technique Junkies. I just had to try out this technique - it's much easier than it looks.

Boy and Girl in PJ's

Aren't these the cutest little kids?? :-) These sweet little ones are ready for bed in their paper pieced pajamas, and they each have their little snuggle buddies with them.

I colored these with Copic markers and then paper pieced the pajamas, the dress on the doll, and the little bows in the girl's hair. The buttons were picked to coordinate with the pink and blue papers, and I tied a bow in the biggest buttons on each card.

You can find these Bedtime Buddies at I Brake for Stamps. There are a couple more stamps that come with this, and I'll show these to you when you come on back over the next two days. :-) When you place your order, remember to use this code - SAVE10HOLLY - to save 10% off your order.

Heart Song Designs Sketch - April 10, 2011

Howdy y'all! Are you ready for a new Heart Song Designs sketch? You can see the sketch over on the Heart Song Inspirations blog as well as the gorgeous work the rest of the Design Team created today.

I actually turned the sketch around so I could use this adorable Sleeping Kitty image. I used the cool new Copic Texturizing technique from Technique Junkies on the kitty, and then sponged some Antique Linen distress ink around the edges.

I used some crochet flowers that Leah had sent to me several years ago - how perfect are those with this image?? The last thing I did was to add some bakers twine on the edge of the image as my homage to the yarn balls.

Why don't you play along with the sketch challenge today? You could win a free digi just for creating a card with today's sketch at the Heart Song Inspirations blog.

Stamps: Sleeping Kitty from Heart Song Designs
Ink: Antique Linen distress
CS: Brocade Blue, White, Making Memories patterned paper
Other: bakers twine, Copic markers, sponge, crochet flowers
Technique Junkies technique: Copic Texturizing (April/May 2011)

Weeds and Wildflowers

I tried something fun and new for this card. See the coral and olive blocks? That's the Foam Stamping Technique from Technique Junkies, and I really like this effect. Think of all the color possibilities!

I stamped Class Act's Dandelions Etc. silhouette over the colored blocks and then stamped the sentiment to the side. I think the colored blocks were still a little wet because that side of the sentiment is a little skewed. That's part of the charm of a hand-stamped card, right? :-)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! TGIF!!

Stamps: Dandelions Etc. (Class Act - Chapel Road division)
Ink: Cameo Coral, Olive, Tuxedo Black Memento
CS: Cameo Coral, White
Other: May Arts ribbon, Scallop Diamond Edge Punch (EK Success)
TJ Technique: Foam Stamping

Ohhhhhhh............... I'm in love. Remember the new flowers from I Brake for Stamps that I was squealing about last week? I finally worked up the nerve to *gasp* USE them on a card. Ohhhhhhhhhh........... how perfect are these flowers with this Woodland Nymph Bear from I Brake for Stamps??

I used the new SCS sketch for this card, colored the bear with Copic markers, and used the Out of the Box technique (from Technique Junkies). I found some pretty botanical papers and distressed the edges, added the ribbon, and then I added the flowers. Ohhhhhh....... me likey! Now I need MORE flowers!!! :-)

Shimmery Pink Floral Collage

You probably know by now that I am totally in love with all the collage stamps over at I Brake for Stamps. This one is no exception. This lovely Fleur Hydrangea Collage is colored with the Pencilled Twinks technique from Technique Junkies, and I added some little white pearls to the centers. The blue around the flower is done by simply sponging some blue ink around the edges of the collage.

I morphed the Pencilled Twinks technique by using Tutu Pink Creative Inspirations Paint (also found at I Brake for Stamps). You can see the gorgeous shimmer here:

I've had a busy night of cooking (lasagna from scratch!) and cleaning and blogging, so I'll keep this short and sweet. Head on over to I Brake for Stamps and check out their gorgeous stamps, the wonderful Creative Inspirations Paint, and the awesome new Wild Orchid Flowers. Use this coupon code - SAVE10HOLLY - and you can save 10% off your order. Happy Shopping!

Doily Hat Collage

Isn't this collage image from I Brake for Stamps just dreamy? I used the Pulled Reinkers technique from Technique Junkies with this Spring Bonnet Collage, and colored in the ribbon and the butterfly with some purple Copic markers. I wanted a soft, feminine feel for this card, so I added some silk ribbon and some paper doilies behind the collage.

Have you seen all the gorgeous new flowers that are in the IBFS store?? Oh my heavens! I just got my order and I'm in love. These flowers are sooooooo pretty and I've been petting them since I ripped open my package. LOL I'm off to go create something so I can add some of these flowers to it. Have a great evening!
